There Lies History - I'll Always Keep My Feet On The Ground

We started out back in January, Dorney, Ryan and Jack went to college together and spoke about starting a band, so Dorney asked Jaymes who was a drummer in a previous band and he said he'd be up for it. We then met our singer in a pub one night at a karaoke night. Everything went well until Hayden dropped out at our first recording session so Ryan, who was our bass player stepped forward to do vocals instead, so we got a new bassist who was a friend of the bands. Since then we've been working hard at getting a 6 track ep together and playing mostly local shows with bands like Fate of A Stranger, The Debut, Fall Against Fate, Scholars, Don Broco and None The Less.

I go by the name "Es" which is short for Eseme (pronounced Es-em-ee). Born in Canada to Cameroonian parents. I rep a hiphop crew called "Gill Breathing" which consists of Mathematik (emcee/DJ/b-boy), Solar C (emcee/DJ/beat maker), B (emcee) and Elaquent (beat maker) and your's truly Es (emcee). "Gill Breathing" basically is the current generation of "Gill" offspring from the "Gill" family tree, living and breathing. We are family. My crew mates are direct offspring. I just married into the family and was accepted as an honorary Gill through marriage to my wife who also is a Gill offspring. LOL. Gill Breathing has been a collective musically since 2007. Life and 9 to 5 committments have slowed us down from putting together music, but we've vowed to get this moving this year. I also rep another crew called "Homegrown" which consists of Introspect, INA, Lep and your's truly Es. We've been working on some things. Be on the lookout ! Anyway...I'm a big fan of hiphop culture and music. Heavily inspired by golden era legends such as KRS one, EPMD, De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest etc, I strive to preserve the artform as best I can the best way I can through substance in music. This is roughly where I'm at musically speaking...check it out and let me know if I'm headed in the right direction....
